A little culture was brought to the school with a 'SPLATS' theatre workshop on William Shakespeare’s play, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. The Y5/6 pupils studied the story first, then they had a fantastic day working in 4 groups on sections of the play script, creating the Midsummer Night’s madness of Oberon, Titania, Puck and the fairies causing chaos with their magical mischief on the humans.
At the end of the day, following drama rehearsals and art workshops making masks and props, the children performed the play to an audience of pupils and parents. The performance was thoroughly entertaining and enjoyed by all who watched it. The children's enjoyment shone through, and everyone was very proud of the confidence and talent that the children demonstrated.
