Emmaville Primary School

Charity Fundraiser

29th March 2017

As part of our collapsed curriculum week - 'Money Matters' - we were all involved in raising money for some charities. These were:

  • RSPCA
  • CLIC Sargent
  • Gateshead Foodbank
  • St Oswald’s Hospice
  • Fairtrade
  • NSPCC

Children spent the week finding out all about money and their charities. The week culminated in a Fundraising Fair. The children worked in mixed age pairs to set up and run their stalls, collect the money and ensure everything ran smoothly. We were completely overwhelmed by the children’s initiative and creativity, coming up with the ideas for fundraising, as well as their awareness of the needs of others and drive to ensure that they raised as much money as possible for them. The Bishop of Carlisle’s team came into assembly on Friday and had the opportunity to visit some of the stalls. They commented how impressed they were by the children’s drive and commitment to their charities. We raised over £2000 for the charities. Well done children – we are all so proud of you.
